Sophie and Tom's wedding at Thornton Manor!
IF YOU LOVE SPARKLY THINGS THEN YOU’LL LOVE THIS LAKESIDE WEDDING!
Sophie and Tom got married at the stunning Thornton Manor, Merseyside, in summer. It was a super fun marquee wedding, with so much colour everywhere and plenty of emotions to top it all off.
Bride and groom prep
Sophie got ready at Thornton Manor with her family and bridesmaids, and there was such a happy vibe. Sophie smiled from ear to ear all morning while she was getting ready. She wore a stunning dress with lots of little details, and looked so incredible. The girls then jumped into the wedding cars to get to the ceremony. She arrived at the Church with her Dad and looked super excited as she got out of the wedding car.
Tom got ready in a in a different part of Thornton Manor with his Groomsmen and guys from both families. He wore a modern navy suit, and looked really dapper. He travelled to the ceremony with the guys and greeted guests as they arrived.
The ceremony
The ceremony took place in a beautiful church near Thornton Manor. The ceremony area was a beautiful room, which was so perfect, for their sunny, summer wedding. The ceremony began with a choir performance, and finished with a big cheer from everyone. It was a gorgeous ceremony, full of excited hand squeezes and private smiles. Sophie had students from her primary school come along to the wedding to perform as the choir and it was a lovely touch.
After the ceremony, I left the couple to mingle, which was the perfect time for me to get candid photos. Then the bride and groom made their way through a long confetti line, which was so much fun. I got some awesome candid photos outdoors – both at the church and then back over at the reception venue. The weather was all sunshine and blue skies, it was a beautiful day.
The reception
Sophie and Tom chose to have their wedding at Thornton Manor because it is the perfect setting for a summer wedding, and it has so many options. Thornton Manor is an old venue, and it’s got such an stunning feel to it, especially the lakeside marquee where the marquee looks over the lake.
For the reception, the couple had set up a cocktail bar and an ice cream cart for their guests, and everyone had so much fun – soaking up the sun and having a good chat. Everyone was then called in for the wedding breakfast, which was proper wedding grub. It was absolutely delicious. They had speeches before the meal, which were really touching – with the odd tear. The best-man made an amazing video for his speech and it went down incredibly well!
The party
After dinner, they cut the cake, and the party got started. The live band kept everyone entertained all evening. They played sax and drums while working the dancefloor and it was great for the guests to get involved with.
The evening ended with some evening good, which even made its way onto the dance-floor. The whole wedding was totally epic, from the bride’s awesome dress to the wonderful speeches. Working at Thornton Manors Lakeside Marquee is so much fun.You are in such a stunning location and you can explore the area for some natural portraits. One of the best moments of the wedding was the best man speech, because the video of him running home for the speech was different and super funny.
I loved this romantic wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a natural, modern and fun wedding photographer, get in touch. Here are the photos!
