Kellie and Adam's Soughton Hall Wedding
Kelly and Adam chose the grand Soughton Hall to host the wedding. Situated just inside of North Wales, not too far from Chester, Soughton Hall is a stunning grade 2 listed building and boutique hotel. Not only is the building itself amazing to look at filled with character, but the ground is also just as stunning that surround it.
The morning started with Kelly getting ready with her bridesmaids and the occasional visit from her mum and dad. She gave gifts to the bridesmaids and her parents which were met with smiles and starting the day perfectly while getting ready. Once her wedding makeup was done, she headed up to the bridal room to get into her stunning wedding dress with the help from her bridesmaids, before revealing her choice of dress to her dad who couldn’t contain his emotions.
While Kelly got ready upstairs, the groom and groomsmen had a quick drink in the bar below, before moving upstairs to the wedding ceremony room. As Kelly made her way down the aisle she smiled proudly to Adam and didn’t lose the smile throughout the ceremony as the exchange vows. After the wedding the bride and groom and their friends and family headed outside to make the most of the weather and to soak in the beautiful surroundings. While guests chatted and had reception drinks, a few played a game of polo which was funny to capture. Garden games can be real fun to add to your wedding reception.
Before the guests were called in for the wedding breakfast, I stole the newlyweds to explore the grounds to capture some natural portraits in the stunning locations. There was a photo opportunity at every turn and you are really spoilt for choice at Soughton Hall when it comes to photographs.
Once the guests had been seated for the speeches and wedding breakfast, Kelly and Adam made a dramatic entrance to the room to music, dancing all the way to the top table while guests cheered and clapped her hands. The speeches were a rollercoaster of emotions with laughter and tears as the best man took it upon themselves to ridicule the-Groom about his looks over the years.
Once everyone was fed and watered they headed back outside to make the most of the summer evening sun. I love walking round and catching the wedding guests naturally enjoying the day without posing people or asking them to do anything, this really allows me to tell the day as it was so that the bride and groom can look back in years to come and remember the day perfectly how it was.
As evening guests arrived it was time to move over to the marquee were the first dance and evening reception will take place. Kelly and Adam and hired a saxophonist and bongo player to assist the DJ and as soon as they started playing, the bridesmaids couldn’t help themselves get involved play in the bongos. Everyone was in the party mood and buzzing from the amazing day they had had.
