Claire and Andy's Windermere Wedding!
IF YOU LOVE WILDFLOWERS, THEN YOU’LL LOVE THIS COUNTRY PUB WEDDING!
Claire and Andy got married at the gorgeous The Wild Boar, Windermere, in July. It was a wonderful rustic wedding, with wildflowers everywhere and an epic cake.
The excitement before the wedding
Claire got ready at The Wild Boar her Mum and her Bridesmaids, and there was such a happy vibe. All the girls had a good laugh as they drank prosecco. She wore a stunning wedding dress with a pinky undertone, and looked so perfect. She then walked the short trip to get to the ceremony.
Andy got ready at the venue also with his groomsmen. He wore a really smart suit and opted for a different tie to separate him from the other guys, and looked really dapper. He travelled to the ceremony on foot. with his guys, greeting guests along the way as they met for arrival drinks.
Getting hitched
The ceremony took place in a beautiful room in the Wild Boar. The ceremony area was filled with flowers, which was perfect for the surroundings, seeing as we were surrounded by the Lake District landscapes. The ceremony began with the bridal party making their way into the ceremony, all smiles, and finished with a big cheer from everyone. It was a romantic ceremony, full of lots of laughter and excited hand squeezes.
After the ceremony, we went for couples portraits, which was perfect as even though it was a July wedding, the rain had decided to come down hard all day. Then I left the couple to mingle, which was the perfect time for me to get candid photos. I got some stunning portrait photos outdoors – the landscape at the venue is truly amazing and the venue taking you up into the hills in their Land Rover is a really nice touch. The weather was really wet, but that didn’t put a dampener on moods.
The afternoon
Claire and Andy chose to have their wedding at The Wild Boar because it’s so cosy and relaxed, and it has so many options. The Wild Boar is an old pub, and it’s got a really quirky vibe, especially in the main room where the it has low ceilings, lots of character and exposed brickwork.
For the reception, the couple had planned live music and served a beer they had made for their guests, and everyone loved it – They found the singer busking in Liverpool and knew he'd be perfect for their wedding.
The party
After the speeches, they cut the cake, and the evening kicked off. The DJ kept the party going all night. The couple had a couple of confetti canons during their first dance which made for some great photos.
The evening ended with all the bridesmaids handing hand in hand, which was incredible – There were some great dance moves throughout the night and the vibe was perfect. The whole wedding was such a laugh, from a super relaxed morning to the last dance. Nothing phased Claire and Andy, not even the constant on and off rain could have dampened their day. One of the best moments of the wedding was taking a ride in the Land Rover, because it was certainly a bumpy ride and seeing them trying to balance their drinks was just too funny. The outfits were also a talking point of the wedding – the dress looked amazing and the suits really suited the setting of the wedding.
I loved this Windermere wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a natural wedding photographer, get in touch. Here are the photos!
